We're in July and so it's time for another episode of the quarterly Vervine series, a radio show hosted by Andrew Heath and I. This is the 12th of these 2 hour shows and so we now have 24 hours of music as part of this introduction to eclectic music old and new. Andrew's been helping me out on these shows since the turn of the year and once again here, he chips in with the second hour.

As a little recap for those who have no idea what this show is about...Vervine began in 2022 as an outlet on Mixcloud to share my wide and varied musical taste. I pushed myself to get my voice out there and recorded some voiceovers in between and the aim was to cover everything including Ambient (of course), Modern Classical, Folk, Jazz, World, Electronic, Funk Deep House and Modern Classical. The name comes from the term 'verve' meaning flavour, and 'ine' meaning 'of' something and so it technically means 'of flavour'. Andrew joined me in January following the launch of his Driftworks label, to add a fresh voice and set of ears to the show.

So in today's episode, following the repair and restoration of my Technics 1210 turntables, I put together a vinyl-only mix of a few records. This was essentially a practice mix for an event I'll be DJing at in September; the Woodbridge Ambient Festival. This is really exciting news so we'll follow up with a more detailed blog post about it soon. But essentially as a quick overview, on the 20th of September Andrew and I have an event at the Shire Hall in Woodbridge called 'Ambient Label Hub'. This will be alongside other UK label owners Adrian Newton of Evergreen Music and James Osland who runs Elm Records. You can find out more about the Woodbridge Ambient Festival HERE.
