Andy Cartwright is an English musician and composer based in the French Southern Alps. Originally from Oxfordshire, he studied sound engineering in Cornwall before living in London, Paris, and Bristol, working as a broadcast wireman.

With a career spanning over two decades, Cartwright is known for his innovative approach to acoustic experimentation, blending fingerpicking, bowing techniques, and open tunings to create immersive, textured soundscapes. While widely recognised for his work under the alias Seabuckthorn, he has also released music under his own name, including albums with respected labels such as Fluid Audio, Lost Tribe Sound, and IIKKI. His compositions have been featured in films, documentaries, and contemporary dance projects, highlighting his ability to craft evocative and atmospheric music.

Cartwright has performed internationally at festivals and events across Europe, continuing to evolve his distinctive sound through a deep connection with natural landscapes and sonic textures.
