PRESS RELEASE

Paweł Pruski is an electronic music artist and producer from Krakow in Poland, who has been releasing music under his surname since 2018 on labels including Krysalisound and Four Tapes. With this latest album, he has now released four albums with us following Playground (2020), Whispers (2021) and Moments of Immersion (2022). Paweł began making music some 15 years ago, and also records as Minoo. With these two projects, he intends to portray two very different sounds and he has also had the opportunity to play at large music festivals and in smaller, more intimate venues too.

The Pruski sound starts life with a modular synthesizer system which Paweł has designed and developed over several years and another layer of control over the music is applied through Ableton which also facilitates his live performances. His work blends electronic sound sources into organic-sounding, intimate soundscapes. This approach was used once again in his latest work, ‘Private Language’, pooling many months’ worth of sketches and experiments into a defined album of tracks, in which he also invited compatriot Tomasz Mreńca to contribute violin to the track ‘Last Particle’.

The album’s title draws influence from philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein, who developed a concept that dealt with the relationship between language and the world. How does our language capture our reality? Are we able to fully describe the world through words? Is there another important aspect?

For Paweł, his albums are like his diaries. Emotions and inspirations that accompany him at a given moment in life are expressed through music. Except for the track titles, the inner details are hidden as the music alone serves as a linguistic platform for us to navigate.
