New Vervine Show: Vervine 014

It's time for a new Vervine show and the first one of the year! These are a quarterly radio show series, hosted by Andrew Heath and I. Today I'm pleased to share the 14th episode of these 2 hour specials and as always, it's packed with recent and forthcoming music from our respective labels Whitelabrecs and Driftworks, not to mention a few records I've been enjoying recently.

To give a quick recap for those new to the show, Vervine started out in 2022 born out of my wide and varied taste in music. I wanted to create shows to share this eclectic taste, beyond Ambient music, very much in the vein of John Peel or my DJ hero Gilles Peterson. The name takes the word 'verve' (meaning flavour), and then 'ine' at the end meaning 'of' something - so we essentially have a show series meaning 'of flavour', as Andrew and I share our curated tastes both from our labels and beyond.

In this episode I share a few forthcoming releases on Whitelabrecs as I kick off a landmark anniversary this year - I can't believe it's been ten years since I launched this small label! There's so much to share and I'm very excited about what's lined up. As always, I wanted to share some music beyond the label too - during my festive holidays in December, I found myself sniffing around Discogs for some bargain wishlist items, and picked up a few sought-after classics. Then a few friends have sent me their new releases lately, so I've picked some tracks from these.

In the second hour, Andrew looks back over the Driftworks catalogue in its debut year, selecting a few tracks from the discography. He then switches from looking back to looking forward, sharing some exclusive early previews of what he has in store this year.
