Electro-Acoustic, Ambient

Biography

Mark David Hadley is a Sheffield based musician and multimedia artist. He works with a wide range of instruments including guitar and violin, found sounds and objects, field recordings and software to create ambient music, sound recordings and art. Mark’s sound and music journey has been varied—from playing violin in school and city orchestras throughout his youth in Birmingham, to sound installation and field recording while studying sculpture in Sheffield.

He has produced tape works for a BMW car launch, co-founded an experimental sound magazine—Noisegate, organised experimental music events, completed an artist residency at Sheffield University Sound Studios, and had releases on the Töshöklabs and Discus labels. After an extended break from releasing music, and a successful career as a designer and software developer, since the pandemic Mark has been self-releasing music and collections of field recordings and building a new audience for his work. Homegrown Apples is his first release for Whitelabrecs.
